Box of Broadcasts

BoB is an up to date television streaming service available to all students and staff. BoB allows you to view recently aired programmes from over 65 channels and there is a searchable archive of 3.3 million broadcasts. You can also record programmes aired in the last 30 days which will be stored on the service permanently, meaning you can watch them again and again. Best of all, you do not need a TV license to use this service.

This service is not available outside the UK. You will need to register with BoB when you first try and access it.

Digimap

Digimap is a database giving access to Ordnance Survey maps and map data, Arial photographs and Lidar data*, either to download for use with application software such as GIS or CAD, or as maps generated by Digimap itself. You will need to register using your Norwich Uni email to use this service.
* Lidar data is a very accurate model of the earth’s surface; this data is captured by firing very rapid laser pulses at the ground surface.

You need to register with Digimap when you use the resource for the first time.

JSTOR is a hosting service which archives journals from across all disciplines. We have access to the Arts and Sciences III collection in full text which contains a large number of titles relating to Art, Architecture and Art History. Lomax Digital Archive

The Lomax Digital Archive provides free access to audio/visual collections compiled across seven decades by folklorist Alan Lomax (1915–2002) and his father John A. Lomax (1867–1948).

The entirety of Alan’s photographs and open-reel tape recordings—made between 1946 and 1991—are available here, as well as transcriptions of his 1940s radio programs, and a selection of clips from his film and video-work of the 1970s and 1980s.

The LDA also contains several large audio collections the Lomaxes made, together and apart, on instantaneously recorded discs under the auspices of the Library of Congress’ Archive of Folk Song between 1933 and 1942. They are presented here in partnership with our colleagues at the LC’s American Folklife Center. As funds become available to digitise and catalogue other collections from this period, they will be made available here. (These collections include materials collected by several of Alan’s collaborators, among them John W. Work III and Mary Elizabeth Barnicle.)

The catalogues are searchable and browsable by a range of taxonomies (person, instrument, location, genre, etc.) and every recording and image is described by extensive item-level metadata.

WGSN is an online trend-analysis and industry research service for the fashion design and retail, and interiors industries. You can also link to their separate database, WGSN Lifestyle & Interiors, using the menu at the top of the screen.

To use WGSN off-campus you need to log in using your Norwich Uni email address, by clicking on the button in the top right corner. You will be asked to verify your email and username on the Norwich Uni page. After this you will be directed back to WGSN login.
